Eyeview Ethnic Trust
A Trust aims to bring awareness and embrace cultural diversity in Aotearoa New Zealand, and move beyond social prejudice and inclusivity for all. Eyeview runs podcasts and produces the annual magazine “Think Diversity” which features people from ethnic backgrounds working in communities and beyond.
“We believe that understanding leads to empathy and that empathy leads to a whole host of other good things – compassion, harmony, inclusivity – that will contribute to making the world a better place.” (source: Eyeview Ethnic website)
Vision and Context
This is by far the biggest edition for Eyeview. Their previous editions were produced in one continuous flow. Which was not the case for this edition.
It comprises 38 interview articles of people from all walks of life. Given the limited time frame, I quickly jumped into understanding the vision of the Trust, researched through past magazines and proposed the magazine must be divided into sections based on the type of interviews.
I assigned each section colours from Eyeview’s brand palette, and iterate some ideas on how to create the flow of the front cover, backside and contents page. It helped designed the inside content.
The fun part
I played around with the colours and created a gradient circle from Eyeview’s palette to use with the names of the interviewers. I also illustrated rectangle shapes to give the notion of a “picture frame” for the images of the people being interviewed and featured.

Articles
Each interview/ article was further given a colour based on their personality and relative images.
